Who are we?

A look into our background.

Highway Band is a professional top level all-round band based in Curacao, led by Harlan de Haas, Cliffard de Windt and Roald Balentien.

Since forming the band in 2012, Highway Band has caused a lot of commotion with its musical level and it’s therefore no coincidence that nowadays the band is the hottest 100% LIVE entertainment band and has rapidly risen to the position of being the musical choice of “those in the know” on the local music scene.

The band consists of 9 talented and experienced musicians who have all played actively in Curacao, The Netherlands and elsewhere. Some have even had the honor of sharing the stage on various occasions with big names such as: José Alberto “El Canario”, Air Supply, Gerard Joling, Las Chicas del Can, Grupo Niche and many more.

Because of their vast musical experience, Highway Band is able to effortlessly provide your event with the appropriate Tropical and/or Top 40 gems. The basic repertoire consists of Merengue, Salsa, Ritmo Kombiná, Zouk, Caribbean and Reggae. If desired a customized repertoire can be put together as well.

More and more often it is demanded from bands to also provide entertainment next to professional music. Most bands realize this need and try to comply with it. Highway Band does this in its own way, the band has its own distinctive vision on the entertainment and band-to-crowd relationship.

This results in a unique entertainment group. “Unique”, because they offer a dynamic music mix, a perfect combination of youth and maturity and their performances are characterized by unparalleled sound, extensive repertoire and rich orchestrations.
